PARTNERS & PROJECTS
Hope Villages of America

2022 – 2023 Legacy Grant Recipient
On Saturday, July 22, 2023, The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin partnered with Hope Villages of America as our ’22-’23 Legacy Grant Recipient for a diaper drive and giveaway. Hope Villages of America Florida State Senator and CEO Nick Diceglie and VP Melvin Thomas were in attendance. Helene Dalmanieras and Kelly Rodowsky were there to represent The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin.
Hope Village of America noted, “…the $1,000 grant enabled us to purchase diapers and formula, allowing us to extend a helping hand to parents in need. With the backing of The Junior League, we were able to make a significant impact, providing much-needed support to families in our community. The smiles and gratitude we received from parents during the event touched our hearts, reminding us of the profound difference we can make when we come together.”

Sandy Lane Elementary School Backpack Stuffing Event

The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin join community partners for the Sandy Lane Elementary School Backpack Stuffing Event. The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin provides funding for the 300+ backpacks and school supplies, including folders, composition notebooks, pencil pouches, and much more for each student at Sandy Lane Elementary School. This event is highly anticipated and ensures a successful start to each school year.

Calvin’s Closet
In 2021, The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin launched The Calvin’s Closet initiative in partnership with Calvin A Hunsinger School, a Title 1 alternative school in Clearwater, FL. The Calvin’s Closet project provides students with access to food, clothing and hygiene products. The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin has made a multi-year commitment of over $20,000 to fund this program and meet the basic needs of students and their families in a location that is convenient for them. The closet is intended to provide the children and their families with the necessities to do their best and work towards providing equity in the seen disparity in nutrition and health status through Northern Pinellas County.

The Community Committee works with current and past League programs, as well as charities and community organizations that are not otherwise connected to the League.
An application must be submitted at least 8 weeks in advance of the project date. A committee member will contact the organization to discuss details of how The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin can help and meet the needs of the organization. For more information, please email us at communityimpact@jlcd.org regarding our DIAD guidelines and requirements.
We look forward to working with you toward strengthening our communities!
